Patrick Calello was studying Industrial Design at Carnegie Mellon University when he was challenged by his professor to design a product for the do-it-yourself wooden hobby industry. It wasn’t long before this car-loving guy developed a toy car concept that would be fashioned out of wood; by 1992, he had begun manufacturing wooden cars that kids could take apart, reassemble, and race with their friends.
